Grammatical Errors Committed by Students in Writing Cause and Effect Paragraphs

The purpose of this study was to identify the grammatical errors and analyze sources committed by students in writing cause effect paragraphs. This research used a mixed-method design as design. data were collected through document collection mid-term tests final tests. subjects two classes English Language Education Program. results showed that types students' omissions 54 (44%), misformation 37 (31%), addition 28 (23%), misordering 3 (2%). total their paragraph 122 errors. Meanwhile, source caused intralingual transfer 82 (67%), interlingual 35 (29%), communication strategies 5 (4%). In writing, it is encouraged check grammar checking are available order reduce mistakes make massage clearer. Teachers pay attention students’ use teaching technique can improve grammar.
